During a televised interview, Kabanda provided analysis on the motives driving this rebranding, portraying the MK Movement as an extension of the ruling NRM party’s youth outreach efforts.
Formerly associated with the NRM herself, Kabanda highlighted the party’s acknowledgment of its diminishing influence among the youth. She suggested that the decision to spotlight Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba aimed to address this disconnect. However, Kabanda expressed reservations about Muhoozi’s ability to authentically engage with youth concerns.
