Rafi, Nyola, and Basangwa are the  Fortebet Real Stars for February.

Continuing to recognize top notches in the Sports Performing Industry, on Tuesday March 3, three top players from Badminton, Chess and Football was named  February’s best performers to  win the awards organized by Real Stars Sports Agency.

In the sport of Badminton, Chess, and Football were on the podium with 9 players mentioned, with three superiors among them winning accolades for their performances.

Africa Senior Badminton Champion Fadillah Shimika Rafi, won the Badminton  accolade for her performance that lifted her to a gold medal from the African event in Botswana and also bettered Ugandans by reaching the Round of 16 at Uganda International.

Receiving the accolade at the event held at Molecule in Kololo, Fadillah celebrated by saying, “I appreciate Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly awards organizers for recognizing me, I am really happy for this, the first in a while since I last won it, I am happy for my performance, and I am looking to continue improving.”

In the sport of  Chess, Mark Nyola Wasswa, a son of football legend Godfrey Nyola, emerged the winner of the accolade. The Kampala University student won the Uganda National Chess Championship where he defeated top players of the country. For the awards, he beat Olivia Asiimwe and Sana Omprakash.

Meanwhile Richard Basangwa used his debut month to contribute four goals for NEC FC in both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup. Winning the accolade, he tussled it out with Vipers SC forward Milton Karisa and UPPC Entebbe’s Goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa.

The colorful event pulled the attendance of Uganda Chess Federation President Andrew Bakiza, who joined Real Stars Sports Agency CEO Isaac Mukasa and Fortebet’s Rasty Mbatidde Namugema, plus representatives from the host venue and accolade designer Judi Colour Solutions.
